Board Sub-Committees[Last Updated : 29 April 2010]
The Strategy Sub-Committee of the Board
When Business Against Crime South Africa (BACSA) approached Government in 2006 to express its concern with regard to the unacceptably high levels of violence and crime, including organised crime in the country, it wanted to encourage a reinvigorated commitment to the fight against crime in the country. The business community offered its support to Government on this front, as nothing less than a structured partnership between all the role-players could assist to effect systemic change.
BACSA wanted as strategic facilitator nothing less than to provide the necessary support to generate a quantum leap in the performance of the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) cluster departments constitutionally mandated to ensure that the safety and security of all citizens, visitors, investors and travelers within the country is protected and upheld.
It is in this context that the Strategy Sub-Committee of the Board was established. Chaired by Mark Lamberti, Chairman of the BACSA Board, the Strategy Sub-Committee seeks to ensure that the Anti-Crime initiatives of the organisation in partnership with Government receives regular focused attention.
